The city of Artesia Infrastructure Department has begun work on the Grand Street water line replacement project. This project will run in four phases along Grand Street from 13th-26th street.
The first phase will work on 13th-17th street from March 10th to March 25th.
The second phase will work on 17th-20th street from March 26th to May 26th.
The third phase will work on 20th-23rd street from May 27th to June 8th.
The final phase will work on 23rd-26th street from June 9th to October 10th.
We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. This project was originally scheduled for a later date when other major projects weren't going on at the same time. The timeframe for this project has been moved up because the pipe that is being replaced was installed in 1968 and has been leaking recently. Those leaks have been impacting an increasing number of homes in the area and have made this project more urgent.
The replacement of this pipe will help improve water pressure, flow, and reliability throughout town. The replacement will also stop the leaks that have been occurring lately. Thank you for your patience. We ask that everyone please drive safely when taking detours and driving near construction zones.
