On August 22, 2023, Mayor Jon Henry proclaimed September 6, 2023 as Artesia Heart Walk Day in recognition of the efforts of volunteers at the Artesia General Hospital and the work of the American Heart Association.
Volunteers at Artesia General Hospital have organized a Heart Walk to raise funds for the American Heart Association. The walk occurs on September 16, 2023 at 8 a.m. beginning and ending at Artesia General Hospital. Mayor Henry encourages all citizens of Artesia to increase their awareness of the risk factors and symptoms related to heart disease and make healthy lifestyle choices. Cardiovascular disease is a significant threat to the health and wellbeing of Artesians and all Americans. Lowering your risk can improve your quality of life and the vitality of the community.
